Leadership Through Sports Academy

June 27-29th, 2022

Empower Basketball Leadership Academy: Our Academy seeks to make an impact by effectively developing our young girls leadership skills through the vehicle of sport. Athletics provides a training ground for team building, risk taking, empathy, communication, listening skills and celebrating each other's successes. The Academy aims to put these skills into practice through competitive team play in basketball and soccer and breakout sessions with specific leadership challenges & reflection.

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Grades: Girls 1st to 10th Grade (Participants will be divided into age appropriate groups)

Location: Ainsworth Gym, Smith College, 102 Lower College Lane Northampton, Ma - Facilities include 3 full courts, film room and strength & conditioning studio.

Registration:

$225 per participant, $200 for each additional child in family

Additional Information: Afternoon snack provided by the Academy each day.

Please bring sneakers, water bottle, extra masks and lunch.

Daily Instruction, Drills and Games focused on Basketball and Soccer Skill Development

Leadership Skills will be implemented and practiced daily during Academy team events

Teaching and mentorship from an all female staff of coaches

3:30pm Academy End of Day Team Challenge

Policies:

COVID Policy: All participants in Summer Programs at Smith College must be fully vaccinated according to the CDC's Definition, and must submit their COVID vaccination records to the Academy before the first day of participation. Participants that test positive for COVID during the program at Smith must leave campus. Masking is required indoors throughout the duration of the academy.

Refund Policy: Full payment is due upon registering. All but $100 + registration fee will be returned if you need to cancel.

Refund policy:
A full refund minus a $100 administrative fee will be provided for all refund requests made up to ten days prior to the start of the camp. Please note, we will not be able to fulfill refunds within ten days prior to camp.
